Modular Hospital Decant Facility
Main Drivers/Constraints
When Bromley Hospitals NHS Trust decided to rebuild Beckenham Hospital, its builders Balfour Beatty chose Elliott Modular Buildings to supply a two storey modular building as a decant facility, to be located close to the hospital in adjacent park land.
Project Information
The two storey building consisted of 68 modules and had a minimum rental period of 108 wks.
The ground floor of the modular building comprises of;
- Reception Area
- Pharmacy
- Genito Urinary
- Physiotherapy
- Phlebotomy Departments
The first floor accommodation includes;
- Health Development
- Speech Therapy Department
- Minor Treatment Departments
- Large Meeting Room Suite
Benefits Achieved/Key Features
Due to the location of several large and mature trees in the park, the footprint of the modular building had to be carefully designed to fit the available space. Fortunately, the modular building system allows for total flexibility and several layouts were produced before the Trust chose their final version.
