Canteens

One of the many applications for our modular buildings is as a canteen for a large workforce incorporating the necessary facilities to feed hundreds of hungry workers. Modular buildings can be provided with a full range of temporary kitchens and catering equipment either as one, two or three storeys.

The first project was Terminal 5 where temporary accommodation modules were designed by Elliott - Modular Buildings using our own in-house facilities and delivered to the site at Heathrow Airport.  Over 1,500 modules have been installed in different compounds around the T5 site ranging from single anti-vandal portable cabins to three-storey modular office accommodation for up to 1,000 site based office staff and also a vast range of catering facilities, shower blocks and laboratories for testing concrete compounds are available for site workers.

Modular buildings used airside are two-hour fire rated which prevents fires from penetrating the building for two hours. In the case of accidents with aviation fuel this would enable the occupants of the units to evacuate safely and in plenty of time.
