Elliott Back to School with £6.0M New Contracts
Elliott is helping meet the need for more school places in the South East after securing £6.0m worth of new contracts.
The work involves Elliott designing and building a series of teaching spaces at three separate schools using its permanent building system.
Buildings at all three schools will be constructed utilising Elliott’s innovative permanent building system because it offers the advantages of standardised design coupled with the quality, cost certainty and scheduling benefits of modular construction.
The additional school places are needed to cope with the ‘bulge’ in demand for primary places in the South East. A new report by the Commons Public Accounts Committee (PAC) predicts that there will be a shortage of 250,000 classroom places in the coming school year. Over a third of these will be in London and the South East alone.
“As we expand our range of cost effective modular solutions for the education sector, we look forward to helping more local authorities meet the need for additional classroom spaces,” said Paul Lang, Off Site Solutions Director. “Our building system offers schools greater cost certainty coupled with rapid deployment, installation and practical completion compared with traditional systems.”
2013 sees Elliott celebrate its 50th anniversary of providing accommodation and storage solutions to many market sectors including local authorities, education, healthcare and construction.
