Congratulations to our National Operational Trainer Andy Blatch who has beaten 50 other contestants to win Lift Truck Training Instructor of the Year.

One of the awarding bodies, RTITB, oversee Lift Truck Training and Andy was required to pass their instructor course which allows him to instruct on categories of equipment that he holds.

RTITB have run the competition for some years now as ‘Talent in Logistics’. Last year they introduced the lift truck instructor of the year competition. After entering through the RTITB website and answering a series of questions he was informed he had made it through to be one of the 10 finalists.

The final was held in Telford and Andy had to complete 4 tests:

  1. Practical operating ability where he had to manoeuvre a laden lift truck in a figure of eight around a confined space
  2. Pre-use inspection test
  3. Delivering a lesson to a student
  4. Theoretical knowledge test

All stands were timed and scored and Andy went on to be the winner!
