Elliott were appointed by the Honeytree Day nursery to provide a new nursery, as part of the government incentive to provide extra nursery places to the Bristol area. Elliott worked closely with Amey, Facilities Management for the school and Skanska, the Principal Contractor to provide the solution.

The single storey, 5 bay solution consisted of; a lobby area, 2no classrooms with sensory areas, 2no store rooms and 6no WC’s with the building accommodating 60 children.

The client was keen to include natural wood effect internally and a sensory, calming area within the classrooms. To assist, we facilitated a visit to our Cannock factory to enable the nursery’s Director to view a demonstration building and envisage the concept.

We utilised modules from our premium Progress range and to ensure aesthetics were consistent across the nursery site, we also re-clad the existing Elliott modular buildings with plastisol and replaced the existing windows to new full height.

For the sensory area, Elliott utilised dimmer LED down lights to control the ambiance of the room. Within the toilets and as part of Elliott’s commitment to the environment, we used sensor taps and sensor flush toilets to reduce the amount of wasted water.

The site was a live school environment, Elliott’s Project Manager Nigel Collop coordinated the installation and ensured that Health and Safety priority at all times. Elliott worked with Amey to coordinate the day of install and deliveries to site. To install the building, the carp arks had to be cleared, advanced notice was given to stakeholders to stop complications on the day.
