One of our Key account superstars, Claire Webb would like to express her sincere thanks to Willmott Dixon for inviting Elliott to take part in their ‘Mental First Aid At Work’ course this week, which was supported by Mental First Aid England. The course was quite an eye opener and it really brought home how serious mental health is, Claire discovered a few scary things…

In 2017 almost three quarters of people in the work place had at some point felt so stressed that they felt overwhelmed or unable to cope. While stress isn’t a mental health problem in itself it often leads to anxiety and much worse.

Whist it’s a very difficult subject one in four will experience a mental health issue in any given year.  This 2 day course has given me the skills to spot early signs of a mental health issue, feel confident in how to offer & provide initial help, preserve life where a person may be at risk of harm to themselves & promote recovery.

Willmott Dixon take their mental health of their employees and colleagues very seriously. They understand that if there is something bothering their staff or if they are feeling unable to cope, they encourage people to discuss issues with a colleague, a line manager or a professional at a counselling organisation. Willmott Dixon have continued their endeavors by starting the campaign All Safe Minds. This shows a company ready to help and encourages staff not to struggle if there is an issue, they encourage them to talk.

Claire comments “Really informative and engaging course.  It was a pleasure to meet the team from Willmott Dixon & their other supply chain”.
