Key Success Factors

Success in a 1 year will include: • Will have become established as a member of the Construction teams within the Surveying function. • Will have completed all relevant coursework in respect of the apprenticeship programme Success in 2 years will include: • Completion of Level 4 Quantity Surveyor apprenticeship • Personal Characteristics: · Show a willingness to learn and apply the knowledge gained within the workplace · Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people · Capable of working on their own initiative · Honest, punctual and reliable · A hard working individual who has a proactive approach to their work, with good attention to detail Qualifications required: · Five GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English and a Science; or a Level 2 Apprenticeship

Roles and Responsibilities

As an apprentice you will work with experienced Quantity Surveyors to develop your knowledge and skills: • Assisting senior managers with the budgeting of construction projects • Control of costs during a construction project • Selection and management of specialist contractors • To contribute to the mitigation of disputes using accurate records • Recording, control and reporting of income and expenditure on a construction project • Valuation of progress on construction projects • To assist senior managers with the legal and contractual issues on a construction project

Hierarchical Relation

Commercial Manager Will work closely with the Quantity Surveyor, Regional Contracts Managers and Project managers.
