Task

OSS (Major Projects) construct permanent buildings using Manufactured Offsite Modular construction techniques along with traditional steel frames to provide both Modular and hybrid building solutions that offer unrivalled flexibility for our customers.

As Contracts Manager you will be fully responsible for the successful operational delivery of Projects ensuring safety, product quality are completed within the contracted timescales and to budget.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the operational delivery side of the project through both Pre and Post Construction phase’s working with both internal and external stakeholders delivering quality within the scope of the design and build form of contract.

Roles and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include:
· Provide leadership, direction and mentoring to the delivery team along with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to deliver high quality projects on time and to budget.
· Develop construction programmes and phasing plans that are accurate, challenging and deliverable in liaison with Production Management and the Supply chain alike.
· Review resource histograms that correlate with the site installation and overall contract master programme for planning, coordination, and control of the operational delivery.
· Support Commercial in the management of the procurement of subcontract packages identifying key dates of when packages need to be placed.
· Ensure that the company HSEQ integrated management systems are implemented and embraced by the workforce and supply chain and ensuring that adequate resources are available to the business to support HSEQ needs.
· Working closely with clients and their consultants to maintain and develop excellent professional relationships, which help support and secure repeat business.
· Present monthly progress reports, data and KPI’s to clients and key stakeholders in a professional, responsive and client focused manner.
· Performance manage site managers and site teams, identifying and monitoring KPI’s.
· Propose, prepare and execute initiatives to enhance profitability managing risk in a collaborative manner with the whole delivery team.
• Assist commercial colleagues to prepare monthly interim valuations and settle the final accounts – both Client and subcontractors.
Organise and chair regular internal Core Team Meetings, Sub Contractor pre start meetings and ongoing Sub Contractor progress meetings.
Ensure that all site records and information is correctly preserved and uploaded onto Elliott's electronic filing system including Viewpoint.

Work Experience


• Strong demonstrable experience of operating in a similar role.

• Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects.

• Preferably qualified to degree level, minimum HND in a construction related subject

• Ideally, the candidate should be a Member of CIOB or working their way towards Corporate Membership

• They will have performed this role on contracts between £3 and £20 m in value with a reputable contractor

• Experience of both traditional and modular construction techniques, along with demolition and asbestos removal would be beneficial

• CSCS – Black Manager’s card

• SMSTS would be beneficial.

Whilst this role is primarily based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, we work Nationally and therefore this role will involve notable travel and some overnight stays.

Many of our contracts involve working in live school environments. Therefore there may be a requirement to complete a Criminal Record check (DBS)
