Roles and Responsibilities

• Identifying, leading & implementing projects and initiatives to improve supplier commitment and delivery in order to meet our customer aspirations • Drive optimal supplier performance against the function budget in order to support our customer service and experience • Develop value adding relationships with suppliers.
• The development, motivation, and retention of your direct reports, ensuring they excel in their roles. • Ensuring the team continually review products and services, identifying those which improve efficiency, reduce costs and drive sustainability. • Providing coaching and mentoring; to lead to the empowerment of teams and individuals. • Embedding a culture that ensures adherence to corporate policy and procedure, and legislative requirements. • Communicating Elliott objectives and ensuring direct reports understand and consistently deliver to those objectives. • HR issues including discipline, sickness, absence, and performance & succession management for direct reports and hiring and developing best talent.
• Providing strategic direction for the purchasing function that will support the overall business objectives of the company. • Providing long term breakthrough to generate sustained growth, profitability and focus on sustainability. • Delivering effective procurement solutions to hire depots, new customer tenders, major project delivery teams and the business as a whole. • Managing the supply of goods and services across the Divisions, in order that financial savings and performance improvements are made through a strategic and integrated approach to supply chain management. • Championing the standards of operational, professional and ethical excellence. • Proving leader ship and acting as a key change agent for the function. • Raising the profile of the Procurement function, both internally and externally. • Identifying suppliers who will actively seek to innovate and add value to Elliott’s going forward and develop these relationships.

Experience and Required Skills

• Has strong people management skills, is able to develop and maintain effective relationships. • Is a strong negotiator and influencer with proven track record of savings delivered in Supply Chain arena, introduce and drive change; often representing major culture shifts. • Projects confidence and has an ability to gain respect from across a varied audience; internal & external; from Directors, Operational Managers, suppliers/subcontractors, and the Health & Safety team • Has experience of working within a large and diverse business, understands and is able to introduce up to date working practices and new ideas, system upgrades and changes. • Has experience of managing staff and has a proven record of managing and developing a highly motivated and professional Supply Chain team • Has knowledge of category management. Has the ability to contribute actively in support of any future category management plans • Operates as a role model; by maintaining a professional and ethical approach at all times. • Is a strategic thinker and has highly develops business acumen. • Has experience of high level project management. • Computer literate, with specific understanding of Microsoft Office software. • Ability to communicate, both orally and written, in the English language. • Is self motivated and Customer focused and can prioritise their workload and their teams. • Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual. • Excellent time management skills • Has a Business or technical degree; with specialisation in purchasing and supply chain management being desirable • Has experience in key purchasing roles; where responsibilities included the overall strategic management and development of the function to deliver “best practice” initiatives. • Preferably has experience in a construction / manufacturing / engineering environment.
