This project was secured through Lot 2 of the Southern Modular Buildings Framework for Alexandra Park School. The classroom block was required before September 2017 due to the increased demand for pupil places within the area.
Elliott supplied this solution from their premium ‘Progress’ range. This provided design flexibility both internally and externally allowing the customer to specify their exact requirements.
The building consists of 16 modules, erected over two floors. The ground floor comprises 4 general teaching classrooms, 1 office, male and female toilet facilities and a large lobby area. The first floor comprises 4 classrooms and an open plan office area.
Throughout the install, weekly progress meetings were held with the school’s Site Manager and the Elliott Project Team to ensure key programme dates were met. Any issues raised were dealt with in a timely manner to avoid any delays in meeting the completion deadline.
Groundworks commenced during the May term time and our subcontractors liaised closely with the school, working alongside the exam timetable to ensure no distractions at this crucial time for the students.
Access to site was limited to a single track through a housing estate with road closures implemented to mitigate any additional risks. Elliott liaised with the school and letters were sent to local residents to inform them of the closure and work activities. A single point of contact was given for any enquiries and confirmation of activities for residents.
One of Elliott’s dedicated apprentices worked closely with our project team to develop his skills throughout the install.
The Elliott team successfully completed the construction programme to the client’s satisfaction, on budget and ahead of schedule. As a result, Elliott recieved the maximum NPS score of 100.
