Willmott Dixon required a temporary solution to accommodate a full school decant whilst the contractor completed the demolition and rebuild of Hertswood Academy into a “cutting edge new facility” in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
With the main contract work beginning in Autumn, Elliott worked closely with Willmott Dixon over the busy summer period to provide a temporary solution that included both a two storey, 84 bay block and a three storey, 72 bay classroom block. The solution housed over 50 general teaching classrooms, offices, toilets, ramps, steps and an internal platform lift. In addition to this, Elliott acted as Principal Contractor on the site completing groundworks, service connections, additional drainage and roadways.
We were able to utilise existing buildings in our rental fleet without altering the layouts, this gave Willmott Dixon the best possible value for money. Elliott also supplied a two team changing room block while the schools existing changing facilities were unavailable due to the construction works.
From Elliott’s perspective, the highlight of this project was the great working relationship we developed with Willmott Dixon. The relationship allowed us the freedom to complete the work unobstructed, this was essential given the very tight timescales.
Elliott received an oustanding NPS score of 90 for the project.
