Modern, Efficient Restaurants
Elliott was commissioned by McDonalds UK for the design, manufacture and construction of a new two-storey Drive-Thru restaurant, the first of its kind in the UK. Since then, Elliott has created many more of these fantastical modular McDonalds buildings through the UK.
Elliott worked closely with McDonalds UK to evolve their design concept into highly engineered volumetric units. We were able to demonstrate our capacity and capability having delivered a range of new single- storey restaurants in line with their planned expansion programme.
The new restaurants two-storey facility seats up to 130 people along with the Drive-Thru. The building includes the dining area and toilets in the ‘LIM food’ design concept and staff areas including kitchen and servery, offices and storage.
The buildings are constructed in steel-framed modules with a concrete floor and a range of architectural features. The off-site method of construction enables the buildings to be manufactured in a factory controlled environment to an extremely high specification and detail, which enabled a very short programme of just 5 weeks on-site.
The buildings are delivered to site in fully fitted out modules including all fixed furniture and signage. The modules are lifted into place and the external façade and associated external enabling works then completed.
The external finish of the building includes a brick slip plinth, stone tiling and Trespa panels with large areas of glazing to the dining areas.
